Hello guys - hope you're all okay!
Just a quick post to put some photos of my Multi Year Group doing some face casts today!
For our Multi Year Project, we have been put into groups of between 10 and 15 people and we have to produce a variety of shots based on Thundercats! Within our groups we have been allocated specific job roles - mine being sculpt deputy - which means I will be sculpting and help produce prosthetics for the character Mumm-Ra.
As you can see from the photos, this process is pretty messy!
First, you apply alginate all over the face in which you are casting (making sure they can still breathe!) and then apply a layer of modroc over the set alginate. The alginate is what picks up all the detail of the face and the modroc acts as a support for the alginate.
Once set, the cast can be taken off the face and then filled with Herculite to get your final replica of the face.
More photos will be added soon in regards to this module as well as my character creation module!
Thanks
Tom :)
